A guide on how to use the crystals that we provide is below. Since you are providing your own crystals, you should refer to the directions that come with your specific crystals.

 —————————————————————————-

BEFORE YOU GET STARTED, YOU NEED TO PRESS TEST A SMALL, UNNOTICEABLE PATCH TO MAKE SURE YOUR PROJECT CAN WITHSTAND THE PRESSING! ALL FABRICS ARE DIFFERENT. SOME ARE OK TO PRESS, SOME ARE NOT.

1. Gather your materials. You will need your heat press (household iron NOT recommended), ironing board, the outfits you want to add crystals to, a rotary cutter, cutting mat, thin pillow case (one you can spare to not use again), a hand held hotfix wand and of course, your crystal sheets.

2. Preheat your press to the desired degrees. (NOTE: THE TEMPERATURE YOU NEED TO SET YOUR PRESS AT AND THE ANOUNT OF TIME YOU NEED TO PRESS FOR, WILL VARY DEPENDING ON THE FABRIC THAT YOU ARE ADDING THE CRYSTALS TO! If your temperature is too low or you don’t press for long enough, the crystals might not adhere. If your temperature is too high or you press for too long, you could potentially burn/melt the item or take the dye off of the fabric. So please test a small patch to get the right settings.)

3. Lay your project piece on the top or underneath the crystal sheet and cut WIDELY around your project, approximately a quarter inch or so. You must take care to NOT to cut the project itself.

4. Lay your pillowcase on your ironing board and place your project on top of the pillowcase.

5. Take the piece of the crystal sheet that you earlier cut in the shape of your project and peel it from the white backing. The crystals should stay sticking to the clear sticky plastic sheet.

6. Place the crystal sheet on top of your project, making sure it’s lined up the way you want it. If any crystals have shifted out of place, now is the time to push them into the place you want them. After you press them, they will be extremely hard to move, or they may not be able to be moved at all.

7. Making sure your press has hit the desired degrees, take the press and put it directly on top of your project that also has the crystal sheet on top of it.

8. Press for 25 seconds. PLEASE DO NOT IRON BACK AND FORTH, KEEP THE PRESS IN ONE PLACE.

9. After the 25 seconds is up, take off the press and set it in a safe place.

10. Flip the whole thing over, pillowcase included, with everything face down. Your crystal sheet should be directly on the ironing board.

11. Press the pillowcase side for another 25 seconds.

12. After the 25 seconds is up, take off the press and set it in a safe place.

13. Flip the pillowcase back over to the side with the crystal sheet on it and peel the sheet away from your project. CRYSTALS MAY BE HOT! SO DO NOT TOUCH THE CRYSTALS JUST YET!

14. Test all crystals by doing a small nudge. If they lift any, secure them in place with your hotfix wand.
